An Exciting New Instrument

We have taken the dobro to the next level of excellence by doing something that has improved the tones and sounds of the old dobro. I believe that it is hard to improve on a classic but I know that once you hear the sweet tones coming from this guitar you will agree that it is even more beautiful than before.

What We Do

The Reed Dobro is a special engineered Dobro that has been modified from a six string to a nine stringed instrument.  The top three high octave strings G,B,D have been duplicated to resemble the spacing of a mandolin.  This gives the guitar a harmonic ring, better tone quality, longer sustain, more volume and a sweeter more pleasing sound. 

The modifications to these guitars have all been done by hand,  One at a time.  I have experimented with many makes and models of guitars and have settled on the one I currently use, being satisfied that it gives the best sound and performance.
